Udita Iyengar

Udita Iyengar grew up in Sugar Land, TX until she left to attend Mount Holyoke College in western Massachusetts. After graduating in 2002 with a degree in neuroscience, she worked in medical research in Boston before teaching in southern Spain for a year. She then attended Yale University for a Master's course, and in 2010 accepted a position conducting research in Baylor Colege of Medicine in Houston as part of a dual-site study conducted with Yale (which allows her to visit New Haven every now and then!). Her current reseach and doctoral work involves mother-infant research and brain maternal response using brain imaging. She conducts research alongside Santa Maria Bonita House, a residential treatment center for women and their children. In her spare time, she enjoys running, Bikram yoga, working on community outreach projects for Bonita House, and playing the violin in the Texas Medical Center Orchestra.
