Greetings Yale alumni,

Please Save the Date for the Yale Day of Service scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Oyster Restoration from 9 AM to 1 PM.  Registration for Yale Day of Serivce will open in early March and this Yale website event page will be updated, plus we will notify you via email.  Here are all the details:

Yale Club alums will meet up at the Sandhill Crane Soccer Complex, 10707 Stewart Road, Galveston, TX 77554. Please do not wear shorts, halter tops or clothing with references to alcohol, drugs or sex.  Dress comfortable and wear clothes that can get wet. 

The Galveston Bay Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to preserve and enhance Galveston Bay as a healthy and productive place for generations to come. The oyster restoration workday involves building a combined oyster habitat and shoreline protection barrier using bagged oyster shell. Volunteers will get wet, as this activity takes place in low tide water that can get up to waist deep.


Special logistical notes:
(transportation, parking, special skills or restrictions)
Close-toed shoes that can get wet are required (scuba booties, old lace-up tennis shoes). NO SANDALS, NO FLIP FLOPS. Please wear clothes that can get wet, and bring a change of dry clothes and dry shoes and towel for afterwards. Bring your own refillable water bottle and a sack lunch or snacks. Prepare to be outdoors for the entirety. We will provide all safety equipment needed.
