Elihu Yale at MFAH


Yale Club art patrons may be interested in attending a lecture at MFAH. The subject: "How Elihu Yale Made his Fortune in India and Founded Yale University"

Benjamin Zucker will trace the story of the merchant, Elihu Yale (1649 - 1721). Yale became governor of the British East India Company and made a fortune trading in diamonds. He amassed a collection of some 10,000 items of gems and textiles. Then he used proceeds to establish an endowment at a college in New Haven. 


Time: Thursday, September 17, 2015 6:30 to 7:30 pm  

Where: Museum of Fine Arts Houston, 1001 Bissonnet

Law Building, lower level

Prices: $5.00 for MFAH members; $10.00 for non members

There is no club sign up to attend the lecture. Persons who would like to attend the lecture simply show up at MFAH. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time by visiting the MFAH website.  

After the event, Yale Club attendees will meet for dinner at Brasserie Max and Julie, 4315 Montrose Blvd, Houston 77006. We ask that you RSVP for the dinner by clicking on the icon below.
