This year's Yale Club of Houston Annual Dinner features Yale alumnus  Roy S. Herbst, M.D., Ph.D., who has recently been appointed chief of medical oncology and associate director for translational research at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. 

Dr. Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD is a 1984 BS/MS Yale College graduate, Professor of Medicine, Chief of Medical Oncology at Yale School of Medicine, and Associate Director of Translational Research at the Yale Cancer Center.


A pioneer in the fields of personalized medicine, lung cancer therapy and developmental therapeutics, Dr. Herbst is no stranger to Houston having built a distinguished career in the development of cancer therapies at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he was Chief of the Section of Thoracic Medical Oncology. At Yale, Herbst is leading the integration of clinical, laboratory and research programs to bring new treatments to cancer patients.
