Yale grad Alex Gibney '77 is one of our most influential alumni in film.  Several of his works will be featured at this year's Cinema Arts Festival Houston.   Prior to these showings, we've secured an exclusive opportunity to engage with Alex over an intimate lunch at the Briar Club. 

Alex Gibney's works as director include Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, The Human Behavior Experiments, Jimi Hendrix and the Blues, and Taxi to the Dark Side, winner of the 2007 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, focusing on an innocent taxi driver in Afghanistan who was tortured and killed at Bagram Air Force Base in 2002.  Casino Jack and the United States of Money chronicles the life of disgraced Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff, while Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer opens in theaters Nov. 5, 2010.

Alex Gibney also served as executive producer of the documentary No End in Sight. His film Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson chronicled the life Hunter S. Thompson and his "Gonzo" style of journalism. Under executive producer Martin Scorsese, Gibney was series producer for the PBS television series The Blues, and writer and producer of the series The Pacific Century which won the News & Documentary Emmy for Outstanding Historical Program. Several of his films have been screened at the Cannes, Sundance, and Tribeca Film Festivals.
